About Matthew Kennedy

Matthew Kennedy, a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, lives with his wife, Aly, and has dedicated nearly a decade to serving on the North Tonawanda Board of Education, including seven years as Board President. As a strong advocate for public education, Matthew Kennedy has led initiatives that enhanced school safety and expanded opportunities for students. This includes establishing the School Resource Officer program and supporting the P-TECH program, which enables students to earn both a high school diploma and an associate’s degree at no cost. Alongside his public service, Matthew works as a people leader for a Fortune 100 technology company, an experience that has shaped his belief in practical, responsible leadership rooted in collaboration and accountability. His deep ties to North Tonawanda fuel his commitment to ensuring the city is recognized as a full and equal partner within Niagara County. As he aims to represent the 8th District in the Niagara County Legislature, Matthew Kennedy is focused on advocating for investments that improve infrastructure, strengthen workforce development, and expand opportunities for all. He looks forward to continuing his service to the community he has always called home and building on the progress already underway.
